Welcome To Trottiscliffe Tennis Club

A beautiful village tennis club in the heart of the Kent Countryside

At Trottiscliffe Tennis Club

Tennis is All About Our Community.

We are a 'not for profit' tennis club and always seek to offer good facilities and a friendly atmosphere at very affordable prices.  We enjoy all aspects of tennis from taking part in regular weekday evening tennis squads, actively competing in the Kent LTA League, through to fun weekly games, and family based social tennis on Sunday afternoons - sometimes followed by teas and refreshments provided by members.

We strive to offer something to every member, young and old and no matter at what level you play. Whatever the time of year, our two courts are always being enjoyed.  Our members love playing all year round in beautiful surroundings and can book courts conveniently through the members area of the website.

Whether you are looking for competitive tennis, social tennis or you just enjoy the game to get fit - you will be made to feel welcome.  The club actively supports the development of tennis for juniors and provides LTA approved junior coaching and summer camps as well as participating in the nationwide 'LTA Tennis for Kids' programme.

New Members

The club makes every effort to welcome new members.  Annual membership runs from the start of  May to the end of April each year.  Applications for membership should be proposed and seconded by existing members of the club with tenure of at least one year. The club committee reviews membership applications on a regular basis and applicants will be notified by email as soon as is practicable.

New applicants who do not know any existing members are normally invited to a coaching or social play session where they can get to know existing members and familiarise themselves with the club facilities.

Competitive tennis

As well as providing a social environment for players new to the game of tennis, or those wanting to get back into the game, the club also supports competitive tennis for intermediate or more advanced players.  There are regular evening squads and the club participates in the LTA Kent League.

Trottiscliffe Tennis Club Summer

Regular evening tennis sessions are organised throughout the year and run from 19:30 to 21:30 each weekday evening. The squads involve mixed doubles play and teams are formed from nominated club members opting to play on a particular evening.  On Friday evening there is an open session which can be joined on an ‘as and when’ basis.
Rotas are published on a seasonal basis and new members are encouraged to join one of the evening sessions. To join one of the rotas please contact the appropriate committee member.

The squad rotas for the current season are available online in the member area of the website. You will need to login as a member to view these schedules as they contain personal contact details.

Kent LTA

The club enters various teams in the Kent LTA League and is justifiably proud of its achievements as a local village club.  We consistently punch above our weight in these leagues and currently field seven teams including men’s, ladies, mixed, and veterans. The number of teams entered each season can be increased if there are sufficient members of the required standard.

New members are welcome to apply to join the relevant team either as a nominated player or as a reserve.  Team selection is made via a selection sub-committee and members wishing to play in a league should contact the relevant committee member. Further information on past results, match fixtures, captains' contact details etc. is available by selecting LTA League from the main menu or clicking here.

“Trottiscliffe Tennis Club is a small very friendly Club set in beautiful surroundings with great opportunities to play in teams competing in the Kent LTA leagues.”

Annette Eccott

“TTC is a friendly club with two hard courts in a rural village setting with fantastic views over farmland. For a smaller club Trottiscliffe does well to attract members from the surrounding areas and fields seven teams in the Kent LTA league.”

Tony Piper

“I have been a member of the club for over 8 years – I started, having only played ‘singles’ tennis back at school…but, was made to feel very welcome and encouraged by TTC members, who supported me through the ‘learning journey’ of ‘doubles’ play. I joined the rota’d tennis evenings and Tuesday evening coaching sessions, which really brought my play on, as well as having good, frequent games of tennis. The Club has a great friendly and welcoming feel, with tournaments and social events being held throughout the year, and for the more competitive player, there is a great opportunity to play in LTA matches around Kent!”

Robert Tipler

“The Club has a great ethos where everyone of all abilities can enjoy tennis. Such a beautiful setting where you can be assured of making great friendships too. The weekday evening rota system, which runs throughout the year, ensures you will be joined by seven other players for two hours of social: fun tennis – floodlit when required. Tuesday evening coaching welcomes all abilities and is a great way for new members to come and join in the fun and meet everyone.”

Ginny Jones

“Though just a small tennis club, every night, winter and summer, sees a squad of 8 players enjoying their tennis on our 2 courts under floodlight. Trottiscliffe is a busy little club and gives players ample opportunity to play mens’, ladies’ and mixed tennis as well as social or competitive tennis.”
