The club provides opportunities to develop and enhance your tennis techniques and match play skills whether you are a beginner, an intermediate player, or a seasoned competitor.  Club group coaching sessions are subsidised for members and are available for beginners / intermediate standard, team players, and juniors.  Further information is available in the sections below.

Advanced / Team Coaching

The club provides advanced coaching for team players which take place on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The coaching sessions are aimed at team level players and concentrate on both technique and strategy, as well as the mental side of the game.  Participants are encouraged to identify aspects of their game they wish to develop.

The coach is Michel Suleau and the cost to members is £6 per session.  Places are restricted to a maximum of 8 players per session.  Members interested in attending these sessions should contact Jim Coffey (

Beginner / Intermediate Coaching

A regular subsidised adult coaching session is held on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm throughout the year.  These sessions are geared towards players of a beginner / intermediate standard, although all members are welcome to attend.

The coach for these sessions is 'TBA' and members wishing to attend these sessions should contact Lesley Benge who coordinates club coaching on behalf of the committee.

Junior Coaching

The club welcomes juniors, and in conjunction with the LTA, promotes the development of tennis for juniors from the age of five upwards. We strive to provide a safe environment and one which helps with social development as well as fitness and tennis skills.

Trottiscliffe Tennis Club is proud to have been selected to participate in the Tennis for Kids initiative which is sponsored by the LTA. Information on LTA affiliated venues, coaching, and open days, etc. is available at the LTA ClubSpark website.

Jim Barton runs the various junior coaching programmes including the LTA’s nationwide Tennis for Kids initiative.
